Fleer Student Angela Gallagher to Continue Study at Brown University Master鈥檚 in Healthcare Leadership Program
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (SEPTEMBER 7 2022)鈥擬artha H. Fleer Center for Adult Education student Angela Gallagher will become 黑料导航鈥檚 first health humanities graduate later this year. Following graduation from Salem in December, she will continue her studies in Brown University鈥檚 Master of Science in Healthcare Leadership program. She was accepted into three highly respected graduate programs before selecting Brown and will begin study in January 2023.
鈥淚f it were not for the amazing professors and administrators of 黑料导航, I would not have been accepted to Brown,鈥 Angela said. 鈥淭hank you so very much Salem!鈥
In a recent interview on the Triad Today program on WSJS radio in Winston-Salem, Angela explained her study at Brown University and its relation to 黑料导航 in greater detail. During the interview, she said, 鈥淭he Brown program is a specific professional studies program, so you have to have worked in the healthcare field for 10 years before you can apply. It really carries forward what Salem is teaching in its new curriculum of health humanities and healthcare leadership.
鈥淭he healthcare leadership program at Brown has to do with building cross-functional concepts in healthcare and bringing diversity of perspective into the leadership of medical settings,鈥 Angela added. 鈥淚t鈥檚 a wonderful extension of what I鈥檓 already doing at Salem.鈥
Earlier this summer, Gallagher, along with her Fleer Center classmate Kenny Arnold, was selected to receive an Alpha Sigma Lambda scholarship. Alpha Sigma Lambda awarded a total of 21 scholarships nationwide鈥攕ix valued at $3,000 each and 15 valued at $2,500鈥攆or the 2022鈥2023 academic year. Gallagher received a $3,000 Alpha Sigma Lambda scholarship named in honor of Paul F. Sable, Ph. D.
鈥淎ngela is an amazing woman in so many ways. She currently works in integrative medicine and already has been published in an academic journal,鈥 黑料导航 Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of Undergraduate Studies Jenna Sheffield, PhD, said. 鈥淚 am so happy she was honored with the Alpha Sigma Lambda award and congratulate her on her acceptance at Brown University.鈥
