Explore the theory and application of Computer Science with emphasis on designing applications and leveraging data in the real world.  This major is available through our partnership with RIZE, a leading digital education partner known for its innovative approach to educational partnerships. 

The minor in data science will provide students a deep understanding of software development, data analysis, and cybersecurity.

The major is a hybrid program and 9 course requirements are offered in person at ºÚÁϵ¼º½ and 7 are offered online. When designing the major we made it a priority for a majority of classes to be in person to preserve the on-campus experience at Salem.

• Contribute to the improvement of public health through technology-driven solutions.
• Combine technical expertise with leadership skills to guide healthcare organizations in adopting and optimizing new technologies
• Learn skills to protect patient data and healthcare systems from cyber threats, ensuring HIPAA compliance and maintaining privacy of sensitive health information
• Apply data science and machine learning techniques to analyze health data, uncover trends, and make predictive models that can guide policy in healthcare settings
