Meet Precious
鈥淚 chose 黑料导航 because I wanted a small, close-knit community where I could build a strong relationship with professors who could mentor me closely and challenge me to grow,鈥 Precious Wondzi said on what led her to choose 黑料导航. Now in her junior year, Precious is triple-majoring in chemistry, biochemistry, and biology. She hopes to pursue an MD-PhD after graduation and build a career advancing women鈥檚 health research, with the ultimate goal of contributing to a cure for reproductive cancers.
The summer after her sophomore year, Precious completed two internships that have been instrumental in her academic journey and have helped provide a solid foundation for her future career. She learned about each internship from professors at Salem who recognized her potential and encouraged her to apply.聽
Through the Developing Future Biologist internship at the University of Michigan, Precious gained hands-on experience in molecular techniques and data analysis鈥揳nd earned three awards! During her second internship at the Knight Cancer Institute in Portland, she was able to participate in and contribute to ongoing pancreatic cancer research, and she won an award for best poster presentation. 鈥淚 learned a lot of skills and techniques from my internships 鈥 I鈥檝e learned how to pivot after failed experiments 鈥 and the art of communication in the field of research,鈥 Precious said of the invaluable experience she acquired.
Precious Wondzi is an inspirational example of what it means to Be Remarkable in the field of health leadership. With her drive and talent, she is poised to achieve great things and make a lasting impact on both 黑料导航 and the field of medical research.聽
